Building a Directory of Allies: Coming Soon in 2026
Because everyone deserves to know where they’ll be seen, respected, and celebrated.

Lisa Hogan
At be;, we believe everyone deserves to show up and be their authentic selves without fear or hesitation. That’s why our mission goes beyond creating affirming spaces within our community center and programs. We want to extend that feeling of safety, dignity, and belonging into every corner of our neighborhoods. In 2026, we’re excited to launch be; local, a new initiative that will highlight the businesses, nonprofits, and organizations in our area who openly welcome and support LGBTQIA+ individuals, neurodivergent adults, people with differing abilities, and their allies. Think of it as our Directory of Allies, a living map of safe, affirming places where everyone can walk in knowing they will be seen, respected, and celebrated. We’re deeply grateful to local partners like Casa Agave, who have already opened their doors to us by hosting be; connected networking events. Their support shows how much our community is ready to come together, not just inside our walls but out in the world, in the places where we work, gather, and live. Businesses like Casa Agave embody the spirit of be; local: welcoming, inclusive, and committed to building a community where everyone belongs. Why does this matter? Because finding spaces that truly embrace diversity and inclusion isn’t always easy. It can be exhausting and isolating to constantly wonder if a place will be welcoming or safe. With be; local, we want to make that question simple: here is your community of allies. Here are the places that stand with you. This effort has grown organically from conversations we’ve had with our participants, volunteers, and local businesses who share our vision for a kinder, more just community. We are deeply grateful for the support already coming from small business owners, nonprofits, and neighbors who want to be part of this movement. While we are still finalizing the details, you can expect be; local to feature trusted, verified businesses and organizations that demonstrate commitment to inclusion every day. From the coffee shops that greet you with a smile to nonprofits offering essential services, this directory will be a resource to guide you toward spaces where you can truly be. We know this is just the beginning. Together, we will keep building a community where safety, dignity, and authentic connection are not the exception, they are the norm. Stay tuned for more updates as we prepare to launch this important project in 2026. We can’t wait to share this growing network of support with you. Thank you for being part of the be; family. When each of us has the freedom to be who we are, we all benefit.
